Imbros Gorge

The Gorge that runs parallel to the largest natural gorge of Europe -Samaria-. The Gorge of Imbros, the gorge that was used by the allies during the evacuation of Crete in 1941 after the battle of Crete in May.

We begin from the village of Askyfou and walk in the river bed that cut through these mountains shaping the actual gorge we arrive at the exit after 2.30 hours, having seen towering rocks, narrow passages,an ideal walk for those who enjoy the geological aspect of Crete as well.

Our walk brings us to the Libyan coast and a swim right beside an old Venetian fort is very appropriate in the Libyan see.
